school vacations in Guyana

Public and private schools in Guyana observe the same national holidays. Schools are closed for 3 free periods throughout the year: Easter Holidays, August Holidays and Christmas Holidays.

The School year begins in September, ends in August and is divided into three terms of 13 weeks each

(i) Christmas Term - September to December with 2 weeks vacation;

(ii) Easter Term - January to April with 2 weeks vacation;

(iii) August Term - April to July with 6weeks vacation.
